The service

The contractor buying our cement also has a ute to keep on the road.

Keeping more than two hundred vehicles running across nine provinces means we buy bulbs, wipers, filters, fluids and safety gear constantly, to a written standard, on a schedule. We know what wears out on PNG roads because it wears out on ours first.

Those are the same items a contractor needs for their own utes and trucks — and the same purchase, from the same branch, on the same account as the materials.

What is covered

Read this part before anything else.

The second column matters as much as the first. Where something is not ours to do, this page says so rather than leaving you to find out later.

What this covers

  • Consumables for light commercial vehicles — utes, vans, light trucks
  • Over-the-counter purchase at the branch, or on your existing trade account
  • The same items our own fleet runs on, bought to a written replacement schedule
  • Stock held at the branch nearest your yard rather than freighted in per order

What it does not cover

  • Mechanical repair, servicing or fitting — we sell the part, not the labour
  • Engine, transmission or driveline components
  • Tyres, batteries beyond the lines already listed, or panel parts
  • Any guarantee that a part fits your vehicle — check the fitment before you buy
  • Parts for heavy plant or machinery
How it works

Step by step.

The same sequence every time, so you know what happens next and what is expected of you.

Know the vehicle

Make, model, year and engine. For bulbs and filters that is what decides fitment, and getting it wrong is a second trip.

Check the branch

Ask the branch nearest your yard what is on the shelf. Stock is held per branch, so the answer differs between Port Moresby, Lae and the Highlands.

Buy at the counter or on account

Over the counter like anything else, or on your trade account with the rest of the order. A PO number is required on account purchases.

Keep a schedule

Our own standard replaces bulbs every six months or forty thousand kilometres, and wipers every six months. Buying to a schedule is cheaper than buying to a breakdown.

What to consider

Before you commit.

The things that most often change the answer, or catch people out.

Fitment is on you

We can tell you what we carry. We cannot confirm it fits your vehicle. Bring the old part, or the make, model, year and engine.

The compliance kit is not optional

A fire extinguisher, first aid kit, warning triangle and spare bulb set are required on commercial vehicles, and our own fleet standard mandates them. Check the extinguisher service date and the expiry dates in the first aid kit — both expire.

Four levels before every trip

Engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and washer fluid are what our drivers check before they leave. Carrying a top-up of each costs less than one roadside stop between provinces.

Buy it with the materials

If you already hold a trade account for cement, steel and timber, parts go on the same account, the same PO and the same statement.

Questions

About this service.

Do you fit parts, or service vehicles?

No. We sell the part. Fitting and servicing are for your own mechanic or workshop.

Will a bulb or filter you sell fit my vehicle?

Check before you buy. Bring the old part or the make, model, year and engine. We do not warrant fitment.

Can I buy parts on my trade account?

Yes, on the same account and the same terms as materials. A PO number is required.

Is the same range at every branch?

No. Stock is held per branch. Ask the branch nearest you what is on the shelf today.

Ask us

Ask the branch nearest your yard.

Stock is held per branch, so the fastest answer comes from the one closest to you. For account purchases, ask your account manager.
